Tips and ideas for organizing your whole home: a Ten Week Organizing Challenge to create an efficient and functional home for a busy family.
Have you had organizing on the brain lately? I must confess that I did some organizing right after Christmas but haven’t had much of a chance to think about it again with the past few busy weeks. We’ve got a big building project happening that I’ll be sharing about really soon which has taken up a great deal of my focus.
One thing that I’ve done in Januarys passed is a complete purge and reorganization of our whole home over a ten week period. I call it my Ten Week Organizing Challenge, and I’ve written a ton about it over the past few years, as I’ve had to ‘redo’ the challenge in each home we’ve lived in.
The 10 Week Organizing Challenge consists of dealing with our “Command Centre” zone and paperwork; the kitchen, laundry and mudroom, our bedroom, the bathrooms, kid’s rooms, our family/playroom space, and the craftroom/office area. I tackle each zone one week at a time in order to allow enough time to truly focus in on each space.

I’ve done this challenge in each home that we’ve lived in and/or moved into over the past few years, and it makes such a big difference to the overall functionality of our spaces and our lives.
