DIY Felt Flower Christmas Tree
If you got a chance to see our Christmas Living and Dining Room tour the other day you may have noticed the little Felt Flower Christmas Tree I made for our coffee table…. and today I am back to fill you in on a few more details about how exactly this little guy came to be.
To make this you need:
-a tree cone (I used one of my DIY 10 Cent Tree Cones)
– felt (I used 8.5×11″ sheets from both Michael’s and the Dollar Tree)
– a hot glue gun
– scissors
I made four different styles of felt flowers for this tree. I learned how to make them following a few of the tutorials that I pinned on my “Getting My Craft On” Pinterest Board…. head over there to see these easy tutorials for yourself.
One of the best tutorials I read was this one by Rebecca at the Crafted Sparrow– she actually teaches you how to make five types of felt flowers in the same post!
Basically, I started by making a whole pile of felt flowers….
and then just glued them to my cone… trying it keep it fairly random – working from the bottom up…
Although making the flowers was (admittedly) pretty time consuming, I just did it while watching a movie one evening and that made the process a little more entertaining. Once the flowers were made, gluing them onto the tree cone didn’t take very long.
And once it was finished I was glad I didn’t call ‘er quits half way through…
I just love how it looks as the centerpiece on our coffee table for Christmas…
Did you see the rest of the Living Room and Dining Room the other day?

This looks AAAHHHH-mazing!!! I love everything about it and now I MUST make my own for next year! The details up close look so beautiful with the different types of felt flowers. Another fantastic idea, Krista!
Thank you Thalita- I love how it turned out but it was a little time consuming. You may want to start now to finish it for next year (kidding). I love all the texture so it was worth it!! Happy New Year to you!!
I love this, but I am so impatient. It really turned out great!!
Hi Kelly – to be honest, I had to do it in a few stages. I’m pretty impatient too but I knew I wanted to finish it. I had planned to do a felt flower wreath as well but the tree was enough for this year!! lol.
How cute! Your little tree looks beautiful! I love felt crafts, there is just so much you can do with that one simple piece of material!!! I love what you did! 🙂
