  1. Wow… my bulletin board was purchased on sale at Target after school had started more than a year ago. I didn’t like it but the price was good and I thought I would use it someday. I just didn’t know how to improve it. Well, it took a birthday party project for my daughter to make me go online and learn what I could do with it. Your suggestion is extremely simple and that’s exactly what I will start working on first thing tomorrow morning. Thank you so much.

    1. Hi Sandra! I am so thrilled that you found a little inspiration!! I love the fun hit of color that adding fabric gives… Thanks for coming by!

    1. Great! It was a fun and easy project and the kids love to fill them up after with all their creations:)

  2. Saw this on your pinterest board – Super cute! You always pick the best fabrics and patterns, so colorful and happy looking. I have a couple old bulletin boards in my computer armoire that I covered with fabric about 10 years ago and they are tired looking. They could use some sprucing up and you’ve inspired me! Maybe I’ll do that sometime this year. Have a great week, Krista! Sharon

    1. Thanks Sharon- I made this one for my friend’s little girls room. It was so fast and satisfying to do… and looks perfect in her bedroom:)

    1. Hi Casey! No I just went straight onto the corkboard and covered the little space between the fabric and the frame with a little piece of jute twine that I hot glued around the edge. Hope that helps!!

  3. I love this! But when you put push pins into the cork board, will the fabric eventually start to peel off??

  4. Hi Krista,

Do you think this would work with cork board? Also, my fabric is a little thin and light in color, I am wondering if I need to paint the cork board white first so that it stands out. Any thoughts on it? I love this tutorial because it seems sooooo easy!

    Thanks,

    1. Hi Nicole! It was so easy. That background of the one I did was a lightish toned cork board that was in an unfinished wood frame which we painted white. If your fabric is thin, try holding it against the cork board first and if you can see through it then you might want to paint it first with white craft paint. That would probably be a good solution… let me know if you have any other questions!

  5. Much simpler than I thought! I saw some being stapled to the board, but I think this one is more practical! Thanks Krista, have to make one eventually for my new kitchen!

    1. I love the geometric print! I made her a couple of throw pillows in it as well.. I bet it looks fabulous in yellow (I have a LOT of yellow around here these days;) Thank you so much for your visit and kind comments!! I’m totally honoured – you have such an amazing blog!

  6. Hi Krista! Thank you so much for sharing this pretty bulletin board and your awesome tray at Best of the Weekend! Pinning to our party board, my own board and sharing this week. Have a happy Sunday and hope you’ll join us again next Friday!

  7. I think I’m going to make one of these this weekend. So cute! I love the fabric you used. It’s so fresh and modern. Where did you get it from?

    1. Hi Susan! It is a premier prints fabric and I ordered it from Fabric.com – they have a ton of great premier prints options and colours and the price can’t be beat for them!

  8. The twine made it look really interesting! Looking forward to your paper-wars post for your son’s room!!! Might help me with ideas for my boy’s room. 😀

    1. Hi Petra! I have to figure out a better system for this year for sure… I have pinned so many kid’s artwork solutions that it is hard to make a choice. Only a week and a half left until school begins though so I better make a decision!!

    1. Thanks Jenna! I think it is a pretty standard upgrade, but it looks adorable in her bedroom – much better then a plain old brown cork board:)

    1. I love fabric bulletin boards Kelly- I have two in our kitchen that I hung on the end of our long pantry cabinet – the perfect spot for all those Christmas family photos that you get from friends each year!

  9. So super cute Krista! I have this fabric in black and have been wondering what to do with it. This geometric design on a bulletin board is great 🙂

    xo, Tanya

    1. I agree Tanya- at first the fabric seems like it could be a little overpowering, but I like the graphic punch on the bulletin board- plus most of it will get covered up with kid-clutter soon I bet!! I made her some little pillows out of the leftover fabric too:)

    1. The twine was perfect Bronwyn, because the white ribbon (two types) that we had bought to use was see through! So, twine it was. And I like how subtle it is… you don’t really notice it:)
