Decorating: Welcome Spring In the Dining Room
Come see all my spring details in the dining room!
It is official! Spring Break is here and it is only a few days until Spring itself officially arrives. Although I saw a few flurries projected on our weather forecast I am hopeful that we won’t have any March snow and instead spring will truly arrive in all its glory. Until that happens I am having fun adding some springy changes indoors.
The other day I wrote about our new springy faux “mantel“. Today I am back with the promised update on a few of the dining room changes. If you have checked out our dining room page on our House Tour, you may have noticed that we used to have a white bookshelf in the dining room. The other day we decided that we wanted our beloved Beckonings chalk painted table back in the dining room rather than in the living room (furniture changes happen fairly often around here). So we made some easy switches:
This:
became:
With a little help from my big and little helpers:) Anyone else have a little helper that wants to get in on every project and job? My little guy is so into it that I have had to move his workbench and tools upstairs to his bedroom so he has quicker access to them. Wish I could hold onto that enthusiasm for work!
Anyhow, with the furniture moved around the house it was time to bring in some springy décor and chef up a few little craft projects, like painting this adorable picket fence from the local dollar store:
I crafted up a springy bunting (out of napkins) that is also on the faux spring ‘mantel’ and a fresh colorful sign to hang beside the table with the message “New Life”. I will detail these DIY crafts in separate posts really soon (just do I don’t get too long winded here:)
And after all this here is the dining room display table now:
Here is a little side view that extends into the living room:
I am totally tickled with the cheery results… it makes me smile to have all these fresh bright colours featured in the house again.
And just because I have a major crush on before and afters, here it is:
Now I am thinking about crafting up a few more innovative additions to the living/dining room area… maybe some cute easter eggs… and the front entrance needs a spring wreath and some more primulas as well. Check back soon for more spring!
And if you are wondering… the laundry room will be complete in the next couple of days so the big reveal is coming soon as well!
Please feel free to say hello if you drop by – I love comments and will reply to each one:) And remember, my housie friends, HOME wasn’t built in a day. Enjoy the journey!

So springy, bright, and cheerful. I just love the transformation and that blue table is so cute and will be a great staging area throughout the year.
Thanks Kim! I agree, the blue table will be much better for seasonal changes than the bookshelf was. Thanks so much for stopping by!
