Aqua and Mint Tablescape for Christmas

Come see my beautiful Christmas dinner table decorations in aqua and mint!

So have you been convinced over the last couple of weeks that blue can be fabulous at Christmas? I have shared some pretty blue DIY opaque glass ornaments and a blue Christmas pallet sign… but if you are still not sure then I have a little more Christmas table decor inspiration for you today in the form of a tablescape. I love the way the aqua and mint blend together and how the red accents look so crisp against these watery hues…Aqua and Mint Christmas Tablescape design at thehappyhousie

This is not a super fancy tablescape… but it includes the basics – a soft blue tablecloth (which, by the way is actually a curtain panel- shhhhhh) – some silver chargers, mint green Mexican pottery plates, and turquoise Mexican glass wine tumblers. We aren’t really fancy around here- we don’t actually own a single piece of ‘china’ or crystal. Our Mexican dish and glassware is as high end as it gets.

I think the addition of some natural greenery always makes for a stunning Christmas table- and in this case I just wrapped some fragrant cedar cuttings from our yard with a white ribbon and attached one of my opaque glass painted Christmas ornaments. Easy, quick, and super effective.

Cedar tree clippings with a Christmas ornament wrapped around it on the plate.

The holiday centerpiece is made up of my super thrifty yarn and feather Christmas trees set atop an old reclaimed wood board that I salvaged from our scrap wood pile. I like how it sets the mini Christmas trees up above the level of the plates – in fact it lives on our table all the time (not just during fancy meals).

There is a piece of wood that is decorated with snow cones in the middle of the table.

So do you think it looks “Christmas’y” – even though it is full of blues?

I love it – but I must admit…. if you haven’t caught on already, I am a bit of a blue ‘fan’.

And I have a few bloggy friends sharing some of their own blue Christmas designs today as well – both tablescapes and blue mantel décor ideas (you will see my mantel next week – and “surprise surprise” it includes some blue).

Head over to check out what they have to share today!
